Tom Lamb
Chairman
Tom joined Key Capital Partners as Non-Executive Chairman in 2011 having retired from Barclays Private Equity where he spent 26 years, latterly as Co-Head and Chairman of the Investment Committee. He has a wide experience of all aspects of private equity having been involved in many successful transactions in a variety of sectors. Previously, he spent six years in industry as a Financial Controller / Director, gaining experience in distribution and information technology businesses after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and gaining a degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College.
Tom is married with seven children and lives in Surrey. Outside work he plays tennis and guitar but not at the same time.
Mike Fell
Investment Partner
Mike is a chartered accountant with over 24 years’ experience of investing in growth companies, firstly with Bridgepoint and then with Granville Baird (now Baird Capital Partners). At Granville, Mike was the regional director responsible for the North of England before being appointed UK managing director, a position he held for almost 10 years. Mike has also held non-executive directorships for a number of public and private UK companies.
Mike lives in Cambridge with his wife and three children. He enjoys watching cricket and playing golf.
He also supports Liverpool FC.
Peter Armitage
Investment Partner
Peter is a chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience of investing in companies and adding value as a non-executive director. Peter spent six years with Bridgepoint (formerly Natwest Ventures) and then eight years as a partner with Apax Partners. He has a full-time MBA from the Manchester Business School.
Peter is married with three children and lives in Huddersfield. Outside of work he is a keen rock-climber, mountaineer and fell-walker. He also enjoys more restful pursuits.
Owen Trotter
Investment Partner
Owen is a chartered accountant with over 12 years’ experience of private equity investing in both Europe and North America. Owen spent five years with Granville Baird (now Baird Capital Partners), firstly in the UK and then in Germany. More recently. Owen was a partner in the Mezzanine Fund of the Royal Bank of Canada, based in Toronto. During that time, he held a number of non-executive directorships.
Owen lives in Shropshire with his wife and their dog. He is a keen squash player and a long suffering supporter of Lincoln City FC.
Mark Buttler
Director
Mark joined KCP in May 2007. Prior to this, he spent 10 years with KPMG Corporate Finance advising on middle-market private equity and M&A transactions across a range of sectors, with particular experience in IT. He initially trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.
Mark lives in Leeds with his wife. He is a keen skier, and is a football and cricket fan. His other interests include food and wine, counterbalanced by regular sessions at the gym.
Richard Thomas
Investment Manager
Richard joined Key Capital Partners from Grant Thornton Corporate Finance where he advised on a number of M&A and private equity transactions across a broad spectrum of sectors. He is a chartered accountant and has a degree in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics.
Richard lives in Birmingham and is a keen footballer and runner. He also enjoys films and is a Liverpool fan.
