£5.0 million investment

“With their in-depth knowledge of the telecoms sector, KCP very quickly gained an understanding of our business and the opportunity that is ahead of us over the coming years. This experience and support provided to the board will improve the quality of the business, help drive growth and add significant value to all shareholders.”

Bob Kerslake, Founder | Commhoist

The business...

Commhoist is a leading provider of end-to-end managed logistics services focusing on new build, upgrade, decommissioning and maintenance of mobile telecommunications infrastructure. The company has a strong reputation in the telecoms sector with a particular specialism in complex installations including both remote or difficult to access areas. Commhoist fully manages public liability, health and safety as well as damage risk for its customers which constitutes a key competitive advantage. Customers include infrastructure providers such as Mono, Clarke Telecom and WHP (a former KCP portfolio company) as well as network operators such as Vodafone and equipment vendors like Ericsson.

The deal...

Following our investment in WHP, we actively targeted the mobile telecoms market to deploy more capital in this exciting market. This resulted in an approach to the owners of Commhoist, a business that had a strong market position and similar growth prospects to WHP and due to our knowledge of the sector we were able to agree a deal relatively quickly.

KCP invested £5 million to fund a partial equity release to the founders alongside an investment into the business to support future growth. We are confident that with our support, Commhoist is extremely well placed given its unrivalled expertise in the market, strong and growing customer base and the investment required to rollout 5G throughout the UK and also upgrade the current 4G rural network to grow significantly over the next few years.
