One of just 185 UK organisations to receive the honour, Avantis Education has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation for its pioneering work in educational technology.
Recognition reflects Avantis’ mission to bring immersive, inclusive learning experiences to classrooms worldwide
Key Capital Partners is delighted to announce that portfolio company Avantis Education has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation 2026, one of the UK’s most prestigious and highly regarded business honours.
Avantis is one of just 185 organisations nationally to receive a King’s Award this year, with the recognition highlighting the company’s outstanding achievement in innovation through its flagship product, ClassVR.
Founded with a mission to inspire the way people learn through immersive technology, Avantis has established itself as a global leader in educational virtual and augmented reality. Its ClassVR platform combines purpose-built hardware, curriculum-aligned content and intuitive classroom management tools into a single, easy-to-use solution designed specifically for education.
Since its launch in 2017, ClassVR has been adopted by schools in more than 90 countries and is now used by over two million students worldwide. The platform enables teachers to deliver immersive learning experiences across a wide range of subjects, helping to bring complex concepts to life and enhance student engagement.
The King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation recognises the depth and impact of Avantis’ technology offering. Assessors highlighted several key elements behind the company’s success, including its robust classroom management and safeguarding features, as well as its centralised teacher portal which enables real-time control of student sessions.
The Eduverse content library which provides access to hundreds of thousands of curriculum-aligned resource, was also noted as a key differentiator, alongside the platform’s strong support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including the use of virtual safe spaces and sensory simulations to create more inclusive learning environments.
Huw Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Avantis Education, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. This recognition is a powerful endorsement of the work our team has done to push the boundaries of what’s possible in education.
It reflects not only our commitment to innovation, but the meaningful impact our solutions are having for schools, teachers and learners across the globe every day. Most importantly, it is a testament to the passion of our people and the trust our customers place in us to deliver technology that truly makes a difference.”
James Excell, Partner at Key Capital Partners, added:
“This is a fantastic achievement for Huw and the wider Avantis team, and thoroughly deserved recognition of the innovation they continue to deliver.
What really sets Avantis apart is the tangible impact their technology is having in classrooms worldwide – helping teachers bring learning to life and making education more accessible, engaging and inclusive for students. ClassVR is not just a strong product; it is a platform that is genuinely changing how young people experience learning. We’re proud to support the team as they continue to extend that impact globally.”
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, now in their 60th year, were renamed in 2023 to reflect His Majesty The King’s commitment to continuing the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II in recognising outstanding UK businesses. The awards celebrate excellence across innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity.
This latest recognition marks a significant milestone for Avantis and reinforces its position at the forefront of immersive learning technology.
