Hallam Medical
Hallam Medical is a healthcare staffing business which deploys highly qualified nurses, largely Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Care Specialists and Telephone Triage Clinical Advisors. The Company is based in Sheffield and supports healthcare providers throughout the UK. Recent UK Government initiatives have driven treatment of patients to be community-centric rather than hospital focussed. This has increased demand for services from primary care providers which Hallam addresses. Owing to the ageing profile of GPs and community-based nurses there is an increasing shortage of highly qualified primary care staff which results in high demand for suitably qualified agency staff.
Since Key's investment, we’ve enjoyed a really honest and open relationship with the team and they have been very good at letting us get on with the job whilst also being keen to help when needed. Investment process
We invested £3.3 million in April 2014. The funds were used to crystallise some of the value the founding shareholders had built and provide working capital to accelerate the growth.
Growth process
We supported the business to invest in staff, new offices and the IT systems to support the rapid growth trajectory. We supplemented the senior management team, including recruitment of a Non-Executive Chairman and CFO.
Exit process
The management team at Hallam bought-out our stake in 2020 to continue their growth objectives.
