Mansfield-based TIS is a design led fire, security and communications systems integrator which installs, maintains and services high-spec installations, with leading credentials across a broad range of sectors including retirement villages, open space CCTV, Smart City, the Ministry of Defence and further education.
Over the past nine years, shareholder and CEO James Twigg, has successfully expanded the technical capability of the business and significantly grown revenue and profitability driven by a strategy of delivering innovative and high-quality solutions to a highly sophisticated customer base.

Investment process
Key invested a significant sum to fund a partial equity release to the shareholders alongside an investment into the business to support future growth. We expect TIS to continue to further leverage its unique service proposition and to become further entrenched in a growing fire, security and life safety services market over our investment period.
Growth process
The market opportunity for TIS is huge and so our investment needed to help strengthen the business in readiness for rapid growth. As such, we have recruited a strong Finance Director to support the current Managing Director, created a new role, Head of Customer Engagement, to assist with focussing the sales efforts, and also appointed Ted Goold as Chair. Ted has worked with us before and he was able to bring his unparalleled experience to the board. TIS is renowned for its support of ESG and therefore invests heavily in its staff. With our support, TIS has launched two academies, one for multi-skilled engineers and the other for the design team. This is a significant investment in young talent and helps ensures that the talent required by the business as it grows is available and best in class. Whilst TIS continues to thrive organically, the opportunity arose to expand their current fire offering through a strategic acquisition of smoke control specialist, Nationwide Specialist Projects (NSP). We sourced the deal through our network and supported the management team with executing the transaction.
