Key invested in the food intolerance testing business in 2017. The company offers comprehensive support to customers in identifying food intolerance and then guiding them through dietary changes with the aim of addressing ailments such as IBS, migraines and skin conditions. The business also has a number of other health and wellness tests and programmes including diabetes and liver check.

Steve has had a 40-year career working with leading brands, selling both products and services, B2B and B2C. Starting his career as a retailer with Marks and Spencer in the late 70’s, his multi-channel and direct marketing experience dates back to his role as global MD of Manchester United Merchandising Ltd in the 90’s, as well as the CEO of Interflora where Steve led the successful 3i backed MBO.

With a 12-year history as an independent non-exec Chairman of PE backed businesses, Steve brings a wealth of sales, marketing and business experience, and knowledge to YorkTest. Steve has also worked with private company owners and managers on investment readiness, strategy and management succession.

James Hall, investment partner at Key and board member of YorkTest Laboratories, comments: “Steve has joined the board of YorkTest at a very exciting time for the business. We are investing heavily in its laboratory, new product development and significantly enhancing the experience for our customers through a number of initiatives, including a new ecommerce site.”

I am delighted to join YorkTest at this most important inflection point in the company’s history. These are exciting times in this sector, the market is ready for a company with our ambitious plans and I'm certain that working together with our CEO Richard Dawson and James Hall at Key Capital Partners, we will build a successful and substantial business.
